Map is an international arts magazine based in Scotland. My role has been to develop the look of the magazine whilst keeping the integrity of the original design. Working with editor Alice Bain, we moved the regular features closer to the front of the book and reworked the department pages to give them a stronger identity. Appealing to a very visually aware readership the magazine has to look and feel different but still maintain its readability. AWARDS • Voted best designed consumer magazine 2005, 2006 by PPA Scotland • Map received two merit design awards in 2006 from SPD in the US |
