 | Outkast by Zach Cordiner In December 2005 Development Hell, the publishers of The Word magazine, bought Mixmag from emap. Working with editor Andrew Harrison, I was asked to undertake a full redesign of the title. Mixmag ditched its 'laddish' image to aim at a more unisex audience with a wider age range. The new look includes a new logo, larger format, perfect binding and better paper. Features are longer, covering a broader range of styles, with an aspirational tone. The relaunch has been well received by industry and readers, with an immediate increase in sales. |  | |
